Chemex filters are specially designed to absorb excess oils, resulting in a clean coffee extraction with heightened aromatics.

CIVIL PRO TIP

The Chemex produces bright and dynamic notes due to the thicker paper filter, and the large vessel allows you to brew a sharable amount of coffee. But because of the thicker filter, the coffee grounds can get clogged at the bottom, and the drip can really slow down. It’s vital to have the coffee ground appropriately for Chemex and relieve the vacuum that can form with the filter against the glass. We recommend the bean be ground to sand-like particle size. Tweak and dial in the grind as needed, depending on coffee.
